finchdown: There’s often at least one of these when I’m shooting alone.  The test to make sure I metered it right.  Always making a face, doing something dumb.   -  Yesterday, someone left a comment on a faux black and white shot (in spanish, though not really noteworthy), complimenting the smooth contrast and then criticizing how it became noisy toward the dark areas.   Closer inspection would reveal it is evenly grained.  Maybe I am being to subtle with that.  Aside from them often just being desaturated and adynamic, that bugs me about digital black and white images - so crisp and clean.  It seems… very weird.  But not with color, for some reason.
